In and around Les Grands Valats and the Vaison la Romaine region:
Vaison la Romaine is a short drive north of Les Grands Valats and offers an exciting weekly market, Roman ruins and a well known summer music festival. Seguret, two miles south, is a charming village classified as one of the prettiest and most charming in all of France, and is very convenient for day-to-day necessities.
The house is well situated for exploring the North of Provence. It is located just 20 minutes from the ancient town of Avignon; not far from l’Isle sur Sorgue, famous for its antique and provencal markets; and 40 minutes from St. Remy and les Baux de Provence, where, in August, the Fete la Feria is held with parades, music and feasting.
If you are seeking the beach, the Camargue, a vast environmentally protected nature reserve, is home to flocks of pink flamingos, migratory birds and herds of wild horses. For those more adventurous, it provides some of the best kite and wind surfing conditions in Southern France.
